Goose Boundary System Research Project

Owl Decoy

We experiment with an entire host of ideas to learn more how to co-exist with the wildlife around us. If we can recognize a way through our research to minimize the effect geese have on our leisure outdoor spaces around ponds & nature trails, your tenants will be more apt to take in their surroundings on the community property.

Safety

Geese, especially during nesting season, can become territorial and aggressive toward humans and pets. By monitoring their behaviors through our research we could have less aggressive interaction with the public.

Less Property Damage

They graze on grass, damage landscaping, and trample plants. Their droppings can also degrade lawns and pavement.

Pond Water Pollution

Goose droppings contribute to nutrient pollution in ponds, lakes, and reservoirs, leading to algae blooms and lower water quality.

Which in turn costs you more caring for your pond's health.

Methods

There are countless ways to deter Geese. At CGE, we research different ways on how to control the environment and treat the wildlife in a simple humane way.

Goose Droppings

A single goose can produce up to a pound of droppings per day, leading to unsanitary conditions in parks, golf courses, and other public spaces.

Meadow Fencing

Geese are attracted to well-manicured grass near water, as geese prefer open spaces where they can easily see predators.

We Incorporate small meadow areas to help with boundaries.
